| JO203: A Southern Indiana tool manufacturing company seeks an Operations Manager experienced in metal cutting manufacturing. Successful candidate will offer strong entrepreneurial talents as a major player on the new product team. Candidate will have proven record in production management/supervision in a manufacturing environment. Position is responsible for all manufacturing operations. Basic knowledge of CNC and manual machine tools and metal cutting processes is desired. The position reports to the general manager and works closely with production and administration personnel. Position is second-in-command and able to assume day-to-day responsibilities of administration in the absence of general manager or administrative manager. Regularly reports to the board of directors on capital needs and operational reviews. Oversees day-to-day manufacturing operations of a cutting tool manufacturer.
Meet production schedules and customer deliveries. Maintain safe working conditions and assure compliance with applicable safety laws and regulations. Monitor quality and ensure the production of products to specifications. Implementation of ISO 9001-2000.
Hire, train and evaluate production employees. Maintain good work relations and communications with employees. Serve as member of New Products Team.
Some trade show and customer relations responsibilities. Report to the General Manager and the Board of Directors. B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience with metal cutting manufacturing. Proven management and leadership skills. Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of CNC milling, turning and grinding. Experience with cutting tool application and design
Knowledge of ISO 9001-2000 Quality Standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in production environment.

Engineering responsibilities include: engineering and design work for pump and pipe systems, industrial ventilation systems, conveyors and minor building repair. Project management responsibilities include: contractor selection, scheduling, project supervision, coordination with production, environmental, health and safety departments. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years industrial experience. Candidates must have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to articulate ideas and concepts using written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision on project tasks and a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and AutoCad.
