Who's Minding the Statehouse? We Are!

The IMA works with industry coalition members, senators and representatives to help shape legislation that will benefit the manufacturing and business communities. Our team of lobbyists, with more than 100 years of combined experience, cover issues involving taxation, environmental compliance, worker's compensation, health care, public education, labor issues and electric deregulation, just to name a few.

Taxing Issues. Since 1901, IMA has led the charge to reduce taxes. Our staff works to promote pro-manufacturing tax provisions, and our tax specialists work with state agencies to improve the tax regulatory environment for manufacturers. In addition, the IMA Taxation and Fiscal Policy Committee meets regularly to discuss issues related to inventory, property and sales and use taxes.

Environmental Watch. Environmental regulations and legislation are changing everyday. IMA is here to help you deal with those changes. Whether you're concerned about air, water or solid and hazardous waste issues, IMA is at the forefront, protecting your interests. IMA works with members and other business groups, as well as the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, in an effort to ensure reasonable enforcement actions and permit fees. IMA's Environmental Policy Committee meets each year to plan strategies and deal with proposed legislation.

Labor Law Strategies. Labor issues are a top concern of most IMA members, and our staff is involved in the legislative process every step of the way. We work on your behalf and strive to ensure that labor laws passed by the Indiana Legislature will not have an adverse affect of the manufacturing and business communities. Labor issues covered by IMA include worker's compensation, unemployment compensation, wages, IOSHA and any legislation affecting the human resource/labor arena.
